While officially founded in 1999, Mabru’s experience and relationships in the marine industry date back more than 40 years. As a leader in battery-powered air conditioning, Mabru’s product line centers on marine air conditioning units that run on 12-volt DC power, making them compatible with both lithium battery setups and existing generator systems.

How Climate Control Supports Vessel Operators
Climate control, particularly air conditioning, offers operators and crew a stable and comfortable climate when on the water, no matter the weather conditions. This can improve productivity, safety and well-being of the crew on board, and can also support equipment reliability and vessel efficiency.
Silver Ships customers’ missions vary and range from military operations, law enforcement, fire rescue, marine towing, surveying and more, which means each operating organization faces unique environmental challenges on the water. Long runs in heat and humidity can lead to quicker fatigue and susceptibility to heat-related illness, which makes an efficient air conditioning unit a critical piece of equipment on board. Plus, maintaining temperature balance can help with window visibility, ensures sensitive equipment does not overheat and can prevent corrosion, mold and mildew caused by unwanted moisture.
Battery-Powered Marine Air Conditioning Units
Mabru offers multiple battery-powered marine air conditioning units to fit a variety of vessel configurations and operator needs. Each Mabru unit works with full lithium battery setups (no generator required) or integrates with existing generator systems, giving workboat builders true flexibility in how they integrate the units to best meet mission demands.
SC12DC: 12-Volt Direct Current Marine Unit
The SC12DC is Mabru’s largest 12-volt direct current marine air conditioning unit. This high efficiency unit is designed to resist mold and bacteria and reduce odor, and offers enhanced heat transfer, copper antimicrobial evaporators, stainless steel chassis and high static pressure ball bearing blowers with auto mode.
RadAirTM: 12-Volt Direct Current Rooftop Marine Unit
Mabru holds a patent on the RadAirTM, a 12-volt DC rooftop marine air conditioning unit. A unique product on the market, the RadAirTM is totally enclosed in a dome with a hermetic seal and includes a military copper antimicrobial evaporator and large copper tubes for better refrigerant flow. It comes with a B30 condensing coil, heating and cooling, digital touch control, 350 GPH raw water pump, high static pressure blowers, airflow safety sensors, and a composite base.

Silver Ships was first introduced to Mabru in 2021, with an initial order for an SC12DC unit placed in 2022. These units have become a key part of Silver Ships’ outfitting process, particularly for Ambar and Explorer vessels.
In 2023, Silver Ships expanded its interest in Mabru’s product line and began purchasing RadAirTM rooftop units for certain vessels, particularly those with walkaround cabins.
