Silver Ships recently delivered an Ambar 800 patrol boat to the Bay County, Michigan Sheriff’s Office. This multi-purpose vessel will serve the Marine Patrol division, conducting patrols on Saginaw Bay, Saginaw River and Kawkawlin River.

This vessel will conduct primary missions including routine marine patrol and enforcement, emergency response, search and recovery operations, Dive Team operations, assistance to distressed boaters, special events and other public safety operations. The conditions in which this vessel will operate range from calm to choppy water depending on the weather, making safety and adequate space for personnel essential when conducting operations.

Powered by twin Mercury Sea Pro 300 HP motors, this vessel is capable of reaching speeds of 44 knots, ensuring fast response to any distress call. A FLIR M332 thermal imaging system provides visibility for extended nighttime patrol operations and a Raymarine Quantum navigation unit supports awareness when performing search and recovery.
