Silver Ships Delivers Multi-Mission AM800 to Colchester Police Department

Silver Ships recently delivered a multi-mission Ambar RHIB to Colchester Police Department in Vermont. The 26ft (bow-to-transom) AM800 vessel, constructed of marine grade aluminum, is powered with twin 250 HP Evinrude G2 outboard motors, allowing it to move quickly in response to emergencies on the water.

The AM800 is constructed with a standard exterior flotation collar for stability and control in rough water, a feature that allows Ambar vessels to operate well in law enforcement and fire rescue situations. The vessel features a dive relief cutout to facilitate easy access for diver entry, which is key for search and rescue operations. Additionally, the vessel includes a Darley 2BE 21H portable pump to be used in marine fire suppression situations. The vessel includes a marine assist console upgrade, which features an enclosed center console, tow reel, tow posts, extra storage and other outfitting necessary to assist boaters and spend considerable amounts of time on the water.

To best equip the vessel for its law enforcement mission, it includes a robust navigation and communication system including Raymarine AXIOM PRO 16 S w/NAG and CHIRP sonar and Navionics charts. It features both port and starboard navigational lighting in addition to 360 degree lighting. For safe night operation, the lights are non-glare to improve the operator’s visibility. The vessel also has a Whelen Mini-Freedom lightbar and siren.
