Mike McCarty, President,
started SSI in 1985 after a successful career in the commercial
fishing industry. Mike’s innovation and vision for the future has placed SSI as a world
leader in the custom aluminum boat market. |

Jason Powers, General Manager,
joined SSI in 1998 with a background in engineering. Jason
graduated from the University of West Florida,
Honor Graduate from US Navy CE “A” school, and is
ABYC Standards Accredited. Jason has overseen the production
of hundreds of custom aluminum boats from design to delivery. |

Jim Sorenson, Production Manager,
joined SSI in 2000 after 11 years with the US Coast Guard, while in the US Coast Guard
he graduated from Machinery Technician School, Certified as a
Motor Life Boat Coxswain, Certified as an instructor. As an instructor
he traveled to various countries throughout the world and conducting
training for foreign governments. The organizational management
skills he acquired while in the USCG have helped him become an
effective leader with SSI. |

Tagg Rogers, Engineering,
joined SSI in 1998 with an extensive background in design and manufacturing.
Prior to working with SSI he designed and built close tolerance fully
automated assembly machinery. Tagg is proficient with computer aided
drafting software and holds a 50 Tonne Captains License. While at SSI
he has designed and developed numerous boats with a specialization
in Pilot and Patrol vessels. |

Johnny Blackwell, Operations,
joined SSI in 1999 after working for AMBAR for 11 years before it was
acquired by SSI. Johnny served in the USMC during Vietnam and is
currently responsible for testing and trials along with logistics support. |

Wade Stevens, Quality Control Manager, joined
the SSI Team in 2003 after working closely with SSI on the
construction of his own department’s fire rescue vessel.
With ten years of service in the fire department, four of which
as an officer, Wade brings with him the necessary skills to
effectively execute consistent quality control programs. Wade
holds numerous certificates in personnel management and instructor
training. Stevens is also undergoing training to become a “Certified
Quality Control Manager”. |

James Giddens, Controller,
joined SSI in 2001. James has a BS degree in accounting from the University
of South Alabama. He was with International Paper Company for
33 years where he held numerous positions in Wood Products accounting,
Paper Mill accounting, Regional Computer Support/Programming/
Operations and Paper Mill computer operations. |

Darren Herman, Rigging Foreman, Joined SSI in
2002 after working as a Leaderman with Ingall’s Shipyard
for two years. Prior to his experience in the marine construction
industry Herman
was in the US Army for 5 years. He was stationed and deployed
to many locations around the world serving as an Information
Management Specialist. |

John Yant, Joined SSI in 2003 and currently handles parts and
purchasing. |
